I guess the way this works is that I pick a favorite film for every letter of the alphabet. Sounds easy, but there's so many damn films starting with the letter "R" that I may go insane. To illustrate how this process works, Capt. Jean-Luc Piccard has agreed to sing us a tune.
He skipped a bunch of letters, but you get the point. Let us begin!
Army of Darkness (Sam Raimi, 1993)
Big Trouble in Little China (John Carpenter, 1986)
Clue (Jonathan Lynn, 1985)
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (Stanley Kubrick, 1964)
Empire Strikes Back, The (Irvin Kershner, 1980)
Fargo (Joel Coen, 1996)
Good Night, and Good Luck (George Clooney, 2005)
Hero (Zhang Yimou, 2002)
Invisible Man, The (James Whale, 1933)
Jerk, The (Carl Reiner, 1979)
King Kong (Peter Jackson, 2005)
Le Samourai (Jean-Pierre Melville, 1967)
Meaning of Life, The (Terry Jones & Terry Gilliam, 1983)
Night at the Opera, A (Sam Wood, 1935)
Office Space (Mike Judge, 1999)
Planet of the Apes (Franklin J. Schaffner, 1967)
Quo Vadis (Mervyn LeRoy, 1951)
Rocky Horror Picture Show, The (Jim Sharman, 1975)
Silence of the Lambs, The (Jonathan Demme, 1991)
Terminator, The (James Cameron, 1984)
UHF (Jay Levey, 1989)
Volver (Pedro Almodóvar, 2006)
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (Mel Stuart, 1971)
X2: X-Men United (Brian Singer, 2003)
Young Frankenstein (Mel Brooks, 1974)
Zoolander (Ben Stiller, 2001)
Clearly, there are some letters of the alphabet that need more movies. I'm going to nominate "Q" as most pressing, as it was between Quo Vadis and The Quick and the Dead, and I'm really not much for either.
Here's the part where I tag five others. Let's see if you all do it.
Caleb and/or Matt at Blast Sheilds Down.
Bill at lighten up on those speeches, sugar.
Lance at Tales from Liverpool
elgringo at He Shot Cyrus
Joseph Campanella at Cinema Fist
Go here for the rules.

Great selection. More than one of those either made my list or were in the short rows.
Absolutely love Patrick Stewart, thanks for the video.
Thanks, sir. I tried really hard not to repeat directors, hence why Big Trouble in Little China beat out The Big Lebowski.
That Stewart clip is class. I've been looking for an excuse to post it for months.
Well, I'm glad this alphabet meme happened along when it did. The Stewart clip needed to have the dust knocked off.
Jean-Luc needs to brush up on his English. Since when does G come after A, and then again after F?
"Gene, you're adorable."
You probably knew that though. You're just jealous that I found a mascot for the meme.
